In this course, I will teach you all the soft- and hard skills to become an outstanding solution architect. We will cover how an architect operates in an IT Team, which skills are required to become an outstanding architect, and which responsibilities you can take on to really make an impression on your peers.
By the end of this course, you will be able to create great architectures, you will know all reference architecture design patterns and how to create these patterns in UML. You’ll also learn about caching, exception management, deployment scenarios, quality factors and much more!

This lesson explains the position of the solution architect within a project team, wedged between the functional analyst and the lead developer, responsible for converting functional specifications into a high-level technical architecture. It covers the architect's core responsibilities, the three essential skills of functional understanding, technical knowledge, and leadership, and the typical career path from developer to lead developer to architect.

Working Spirit invited us to Deventer to deliver this training to teach lead developers how to become great sparring partners to an architect. We spent the first half of the training going through all the personality traits and skills of a great architect, and what a lead developer should bring to the table to establish an excellent working relationship with an architect. In the second half we focused on design patterns that architects and software developers can use to co-create robust, scalable and highly-available cloud architectures.
